FRESH PRODUCTS FOR THE SPRING

With spring fast approaching there will soon be an abundance of fresh products available. First up is our home grown rhubarb. The early rhubarb is very sweet and makes brilliant crumbles or more convenient cooked on its own.

Other vegetables include: lettuce, first crop of tomatoes, curly kale, spring cabbage, spring, onions and watercress. However with the hard winter and snow covering it has been hard to think about gardening this year.

Lambs are always in great demand, especially at Easter time and Sheppard’s seem to be getting earlier and earlier with the use of better technologies and genetics. We have seen an increase in lamb prices mostly due to the exchange rates.

Freshly baked bread is always available from our shop. The baker tends to arrive slightly later than we open, so it may be a good idea to phone if you need something first thing to check if it has arrived.
